Styling your session

I really want you and your family to be the hero in your images.  The clothing you wear and the styling of your session really does set the feel for the images and will make the difference between just nice family photos and simply beautiful, timeless portraits of your family and children.

I strongly advise that you wear neutral tones that compliment eachother.

Strong bold colours (such as neons), character clothing with images and picture prints and clothing with logos or written text must be avoided.

Please steer clear from monochromatic colours such as black and white also.

Pick clothing with texture.  Knitwear is wonderful as well as clothing with lace, ruffles and layers.

Try not to all be matching, rather think of dressing the family as if you were creating an outfit for one person - clothing that works together, but not in an obvious way.

For example, you may choose blue and brown earthy tones, but with a splash of pink in the accessories.

I have a range of vintage clothing, shoes and knitted outfits for both boys and girls which I will bring along to the session in addition to your child's own outfits.   Please let me know your childs size prior to the session so I can bring along some items to suit.

Please see the following examples of outfit choices, colour matching suggestions and styling.

If you would like further styling information, please let me know and I can send you a link to a private Pintrest Board outlining more styling hints and tips
